A Week in Zermatt with the Yu family

I think the key factor for how well this trip went off was the excellent communication and the knowledge of Jacob Wells, co-founder of The Mountain Company, of the Zermatt ski resort and what the town has to offer. He developed a sense of our preferences during pre-trip planning meetings and based on that he provided options on transportation (airport to hotel in Zermatt), accommodation, restaurants based on our inputs. As soon as we landed in the Zurich airport, Jacob was in touch and guided us via WhatsApp, through platforms and transfers. Staying in touch until we arrived at Zermatt train station

We were a group of 7 skiers with different ski abilities. Jacob was able to fine tune the guiding arrangements once he had a chance to ski with us on the first day. He provided two very advanced skiers with off piste experience while added a colleague to guide the rest of the group. Our guide were perceptive and provided skiing tips while carefully selected trails that all can enjoy. They know the trails well and help us anticipate various geographical features of the trail which was very helpful during low visibility days.

We were very happy with our accommodation and dinning recommendation as well. Again, Jacob was able to make last minute adjustments either at our request or due to last minutes change in ski trails due to weather condition. Lunch is definitely a part of the Zermatt ski experience.
